Review:
What more old-school in Metal than Speed Metal, a genre that at some point I thought never existed anymore, and it probably did't indeed? Bloodlust are a trio from Colombia and this is their debut album, an album that gets released 7 years after the band's foundation, so it took them a while to come up with it. 8 tracks, 40 minutes of playing time, fast paced Metal, of course, characterized by frenzied drumming, repetitive, catchy guitar riffs seconded at times by killer old-school solos, and a vocalist that screams his lungs out from start to finish. I doubt this will appeal to uninitiated Metalheads as it becomes quite dull after a while, but for fans of this genre it will certainly be a killer experience. The intro leads you to think you're about to deal with a horror-infused material, but unfortunately apart from that long intro there's not much reference to horror movies except for the cover art and lyrics, which indeed seem fully occult. Anyway, it's cool to still have this style represented by bands nowadays so Bloodlust deserves your support!
