Damn, this guy (Eugene, the man behind Necrochaos) is part of a ton of similar one man projects or duos and most of them are active on discographic level in 2019 / 2020, which means he's a prolific song-writer. His influences range from Death to Doom to Black Metal, and in Necrochaos' case he takes on a sinister type of Death Metal with occasional Doom Death influences. This is his debut demo, initially self-released as a three tracks material in 2019, then re-released as an EP with two extra tracks by Godz ov War. Mainly the rhythms are fast, lead by a wall of blastbeats and fast riffage, but as mentioned before there are some slower moments when things descend into the darkest corners of Doom Death Metal. The dark, oppressive growling vocals are not brought in front like in most cases, but in Necrochaos' case they act like another instrument, at the same (volume) level as the others, if not even a bit more in the back of the pack, which gives them even more of that morbid feeling they manage to inflict on the music. The riffs are mostly fast, brutal and uncompromising Death Metal type, but there are some passages when they get even heavier, slower and more sinister, and at times they even add some grooves to make things proper for headbanging, so we're treated here with more versatility than it might seem after a first audition. A bit over 20 minutes of somber, bleak traditional Death Metal that will please the initiated, I doubt others will feel anything about it.
