Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Frosthelm got it’s start in 2009. Jim, and Tyler were in a grind band called Serviam. I started playing with them, and it was clear that a new sound and direction was needed. We picked up Brian in 2012 and have been rolling on ever since.
Frosthelm is:
Bernard - Vocals
Brian - Drums
James - Bass
Dakota - Guitar
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
A amalgamation of extremes forged in the flames of desolation, and quenched in the bitter despair of a frigid and unforgiving North Dakota winter.
We like Slayer, Dissection, Mayhem, Kreator, Morbid Angel, Blut Aus Nord, Discordance Axis, Deathspell Omega, Naglfar, Immortal to name a few.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We have poured our hearts and souls into our music, and I think metal heads out there are looking for something that makes them feel something, and we think we have definitely achieved that.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have released a two song demo in 2010, a self-produced EP in 2012 called “The Endless Winter”, and our debut full length “The Endless Winter” due March 22nd, 2015.
The demo had a very limited release, but our EP was very well received.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We love to play live. We’ve gone on three small promo tours and will be going out again this spring. Check out the facebook for tour dates.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I don’t think I can answer that, but what I will say is that we love what we do. We work hard and we are always striving to improve.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We have our spring jaunt around the midwest coming up this spring. We’re also looking at making a music video, and we are really striving to get ourselves out there.
