Review:
In the meantime the band released its new album, their fourth, so this is quite an outdated review.
Starbynary comes from Italy and was founded by musicians with serious experience on the scene, teh vocalist being Joe Caggianelli of Derdian fame, band that's now defunct apparently. This is the second part of a Divina Commedia trilogy, based on Dante Alighieri's masterpiece, and made of no less than 12 tracks in 70 minutes of playing time. Technical and melodic Power Metal, typical for Italians, with Progressive touches especially on the rhythm section in my opinion, with an overall curdled, unitary atmosphere that actually inspires a concept behind the album. I would have preferred a more powerful production to be honest, and maybe a bit more versatility on the vocal part, like the band tries to add by bringing in a harsh male vocal and a female vocalist episodically though. From my point of view the strengths of this album are the bass lines and the keyboard harmonies, but the rest doesn't stand out too much, it's a good album, fans of the genre will appreciate it much more than I do, for sure, but to me it seems it doesn't stand out too much from the rest.
