Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
In the begining Kurwen was formed for three members, which belonged to three differents bands, so, Kurwen arose like a parallel project.
After composing several songs and record ours experiments in a cassette, spent time in wich we realized that we didn't have time enough to devote to the band.
So, after several meetings, we all decide separate us.
Years later one of those members decides to return Kurwen like a solo project.
And, after record one first demo, here I am today, working in the recording of the second demo, that will be done in spring of this year (2010)
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
It's so dificult to me tag my own songs, because they are influenced by different bands wich are from very different styles, although is true that people tag them like Black Death.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
For now, they don't have to buy it, because they can download for free the first demo on the official myspace.
But, in the case they'll have to pay for it, they don't repent to do it, because I consider that the quality of the songs is good, or at least not bad at all...jajaja
Now in serious, what I can assure you is that there is a lot of hours of hard work behind each song, and I think it's worth listen to them.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
For now I've recorded a demo and the response from people has been better than I expect and as far as today the response is very positive.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Well, it would be very difficult play all the instruments at the same time jajaja...
I could looking for musicians just to make gigs, but for now, Kurwen is my solo project, and I want to keep it this way.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
What I can say is that Kurwen is my priority and I spend so much hours working hard to evolve, to improve...
And in my point of view, I think that this will see clearly when you can compare the sound of the first demo with the sound of the second one. There is a great evolution.
What I mean is Kurwen is a dinamic band, that is moves for different styles, always keep its personal touch, but liking that way to very different kind of people.
And I think this is something important to consider
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Like I commented after, I'm finishing the recording of the second demo, and this is, for sure, my present and my immediate future.
From the release I'll continue with the composition of the songs from my next work.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
To listen the band or to have access to the download links, they just have to visit the official myspace: www.myspace.com/kurwen
Cheers and enjoy!!!
