Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Mass Burial are: Goran (Vocals/Bass), Alen (Lead Guitar), Benny (Rhythm Guitar) and Ron (Drums). Back in April 2008 Alen & I (Goran) were inspired by demonic mythology and mankind's neverlasting urge for self destruction to express our own take on death and black metal . So we recorded a couple of songs in our home studio and put them on Myspace, invited a few people to listen to our stuff and they liked it. Encouraged by positive feedback from around the world, we started writing more sophisticated material and hired Ron, then a 17 year old death metal "blasting machine", and Benny, local rhythm gutarist and tattoo artist, to join us on our march into Eternal War against pretty much everyone and everything.
In December 2009 Mass Burial entered Production Avenue Studios in Sydney Australia to record its full length debut album entitled "Eternal War", which is scheduled to be released in late August/early September 2010. The album has been produced by Lachlan Mitchell (Nazxul, The Amenta) and mastered by Alan Douches (Nile, Mastodon).
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We don't like labeling our music. However it contains strong elements of Death Metal with a touch of Black Metal. It is hard hitting, yet atmospheric and tasteful. The biggest influences are Morbid Angel, Nile, Hate Eternal and Emperor.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because it's the ultimate soundtrack to necromantic rites. ...and if they don't they'll end up in heaven with Bon Jovi and Coldplay.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have released pre-production issue of our songs on Myspace and Reverbnation, and it was received very well by various webzines and metal fans world wide. Apart from that we have released in circulation a promo CD with 4 songs, which was handed out at our gigs. They were usually gone very quickly.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We have played a few gigs locally here in Australia, and now we are booking our first national tour, which we are looking to extend onto neighboring countries such as New Zealand and Indonesia.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Mass Burial is on overtaking lane and with us impossible is nothing. Mass Burial is the ultimate force of darkness in musical form.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Rehearsal on Saturday. :joking: Well, our plan is world wide domination. We are releasing our album in September 2010, we aim to distribute it world wide, release a video clip and then hit the road and tour as much as we can. Our plan is to get to as many people who feel the same passion for this heavy music everywhere in the world.
