Christos: We started Phidion officially in the fall of 2003 after we had split up Ruins of Time. The members back then was me, Mathias Öjermark (also in Obrero) and Martin Missy (also in Protector and Obrero) of Ruins of Time and our friend Fredrik (also in Talion and Obrero) joined us on bass. Alex joined us on drums and we started rehearsing in 2004. The initial idea was to play something a bit more minimalistic than what we had done in Ruins of Time, but with time, me and Alex changed the style towards death metal, since playing minimalistic music is for talentless punk or crapcore bands.

After various line up changes (most left due lack of time and other interests), I was the only original member left. So last year I finally got together the current line up which is made up by me, Ollie who also screamed and puked in Conductor and Tromacide. That guy also runs Thrash Assault so expect great Phidion reviews in that magazine! Then on drums we have Abbe Abyss who has been in a couple of bands before, the most known being Nauseant which is total Demilich worship! And last and very much likely least, the man who will provide us with booze and hookers and will also lay down the bass lines, Johan. Now this guy was the founding member of such bands as Traumatage and Godphobia.

Ollie: Phidion sounds like putting a paranoid short-distance runner with a chainsaw in a cage full of rabid polar bears and see who survives. It's brutal, intense and really exciting! Add some old school death metal, some thrash and touches of Rotting Christ, Hatespawn, Repugnant, Thou Art Lord and Morbid Angel to the mix and you have a perfect match!

Ollie: They don't just get a fresh dose of excellent Death Metal, they can also use the CD as a frisbee when they have listened to it. By doing that they might need to buy another one if they want to listen to it again. So, we have three records out. The first one was originally called "Is Paris Burning" but it was raining in Paris last time we were there so that thesis failed us. So now it's just called Demo 2007. But it has a song about Derek. He is a guy who doesn't run. Our latest effort is called "Flesh of the Forsaken". It was released last year and it will remain with that name until further instructions are given. Also, it's brutal as hell! Just prior to that we also released "Alive at Brother Tuck" which we will be talking about below. Just bend over and look for it.

Christos: We recorded and released our first demo, "Demo 2007" in 2007. We weren't that pleased with it so we didn't bother with promoting it.

After that we released a live tape demo called "Alive at Brother Tuck" that is available on limited tape release and on cd-r. Again that was also not promoted mainly because it was just made for fun.

In 2012 we released our EP "Flesh of the Forsaken" and sent it to various magazines and webzines and most reviews have been positive. We got one really stinky review from a guy that apparently is either deaf or didn't bother to listen to the music, except for maybe one song. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it's made of shit!

Ollie: Yes, we do play live, we have played live two times with the new line-up so far. First time was at the Tyresö Metal fest outside Stockholm and we killed everything! A week later we had to use our necromancer skills to resurrect a few people so we could play again at Broder Tuck. It's the second time we played there because the first time the place was so packed with people so we ran out of hand grenades. But the second time we had a bigger artillery and also a few nukes with us so that time it was no problem.

Ollie: We are secretly in league with Karlsson-on-the-roof... uhm, I mean Satan, but we haven't told him yet. On the rooftops of R'lyeh dead Karlsson lay dreaming. Yes, he's hiding up there with his Shoggoths. Have you seen those things? Terrifying creatures. We actually tried to sample those noises they are making for the "Flesh of the Forsaken" EP but our equipment couldn't record anything because the noises are on a different outer-dimensional frequency.

Christos: Write more songs, play more gigs, record, sacrifice Satan to virgins. You know, the usual stuff. That and to watch the greatest movie of all time a couple of more times. Which movie you might ask? Bad Taste of course!
