Brutal greetings Saso! How is your week going? Please tell the readers a little about yourself?
Hi mate, also big brutal greeting to you Patric. I had a cool week so far, next week I am on vacations, so I count the days till the Weekend :D. What to say about me. I live in a small town in North-east of Slovenia (Sovenia is a small Country in central Europe, our neigbors are Italy, Hungary, Austria and Croatia) called Murska Sobota. I studiet the german language on the University in Ljubljana and have to finish my diploma, so I am working on this. I am working at the moment at a social institution, where I help children with their learning problems.

When did you first start get into metal? Who were some of the first bands you listened to? Who are some of your current favorites?
I started with metal in the 5. Class, first I have listen to bands like Guns and Roses, Sepultura, Rammstein, after that I started with Cradel of Filth, Dimmu borgir, etc. Few years I was really into black metal with bands like Gorgoroth, Satyricon, Mayhem, Burzum, etc. But that wasnt the End, at least I heard from a friend of me the Band Dying Fetus and from that on, I am in brutal death metal. My current favorites are dying Fetus, Misery index, Prostitute Disfigurment, Putrid Pile, desecration, Lividity, etc.

When did you guys form Vulvathrone? What is the current line-up? For the readers who have never heard the band how would you describe the music?
It was the year 2004. We started the band and practice some covers from Vader, Motörhead, Six Feet under and later dying Fetus. After few rehearsels we started to write our own stuff and here it is now ;D.
The current line-up is, I Saso Herman on Guitar and Vocals, Jure Lindic Vocals, Ozren Kokol bass and vocals and Matjaz Kamnicar on drums. I and Matjaz are the only remainig original Members. We have changed in our Line-up so up to then Members :D.
We are playing some kind of brutal death metal with a touch of grind core and a lot of aaaammmm, yeaaaah, take my...., yessss.... ;D (sexual lyrics).

The band recently released it's new CD "Passion of Perversity". How long did it take you all to write and record the songs for this release? Are you guys happy with how the songs turned out? How has the response been from the fans and press?
We worked on the Songs at least 2 years, because the lyrics has been note written so fast. They were written by our former singer Seba and hi didnt have the time to do it. This is also the reason that we realesed the cd this year. First it was planned to be realesed September 2008.
I can say for my oppinion, this is it! This songs are for me much better that the songs on the first CD "Bukkake”. You see that the Band has grown, that we went to new structures and thats for me how it should be.
We got good responses, but also some bad. But we dont care about that, when some likes the new stuff is cool, when not its his right do decide. We let our music speak for us and let the fans decide.
We got also some good reviews from the press, but also bad...

Does the band have any upcoming shows or tours in support of the new CD? If yes who are some bands you will be touring with? Where are some countries/areas you will be playing?
To support the realse we have played from August till now (3.december) over 10 Gigs and we gonna do more of them in the upcoming months. In december we have planned 3 Gigs for now:
18.12.2009 Kamnik, Kotlovnica with Septic Scum and Bile eater
1.1.2010 novo mesto Sokoljev Dom with lot of bands
We would like to play tour, but non is concrete at the moment(one is in plan, but nothing is fixed yet, so we cannot say that the tour will be). Here I must say that we are always open for some Gigs to play, the promotors just have to ask and we can shure come somehow together.

Do you enjoy playing live or do you prefer to work in the studio? If you could set-up a "dream" show/tour who are some bands you would love to play/tour with?
We enjoy to play live!!! The studio work is good, but I prefere to play live. You get in touch with the audience and always find new people.
My dream tour would be with Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Lividity, one of the following bands (Abrasive, Septic Scum, Dickless Tracy) and we, that would be an awsome tour for me :D. Its the first time I had to put something like this together, thanks for the question. :D

How often does the band get to practice? When you all start working on a new song how long does it usually take to complete?
There was a time that I and Matko spend a lot of time in the rehearsels. We had practice 6 time a Week. But then Matko went to Ljubljana to work, so we usually practice 2-3 times a every second Weekend. And now its so that we havent practice the last 3 Monts, because we had no time to. We have played many Gigs and this are at the Moment our rehearsels. We plan to do now new songs for a upcoming split with Carignan, Abrasive, Tears of Decay and maybe one more band. We start a song with a riff, I play some riffs, and we discust which will fit together. Then we are continuing to put a complete structure to a song with more riffs. As a structure stands, I sleep over the night and think about the structure, if it fits. Its stand so and we are continuing to put more riffs (not just my, also from the other band members), till it fits for all of us. These process usually takes some few Weeks, but it also can be that we finish a song very quick.

Does the whole band write/work on new music or does just 1-2 members handle everything? Who usually handles the lyrics? Where do you all draw inspiration for the lyrics?
As I have said before, the most things are handeld by me and Matko. But also the other members put something to it. In the future I hope it will be more. The lyrics where handeld like I sad before from our former singer Seba, with some help of our good friends of Dickless tracy and Carnivourius cunt. Now I hope the new members will put also something to the Lyrics. I can just say that Seba had his inspiration from variuos Bdsm forums and a lot of pornos :D...

The band comes out of the Slovenian underground scene. As some like myself who is not real familar with your countries metal scene. What is your opinon of the metal scene in Slovenia?
We have a lot of different bands, for example you have death metal (scaffold, dickless Tracy, Noctiferia), death/grind (Septic Scum, Smoke 57, and us), a lot of thrash bands (like negligence, Zelezobeton, Lintver, Keller, Eruption...), black metal bands (Mora, Bleeding Fist, Neprolith, Somrak, Naberius, Dalkhu), death/black (obnounce, Sweet sorrow, etc) some progressive Bands (Prospect, Chaosstar) and also some other bands. There are also many concerts going on. From little Club gigs with 40 People to huge like something over 1000 or even more. There are also some festivals for the headbangers here. The Metalcamp is the big one, there are about 8000-10000 People every year. And then you have Paranoid open air (former Metalmania Open air) is smaller for something like 1000-1500 People and you have also some smaller Festivals, but I can say the scene is even now rising and there are more and more listeners on the concerts but as you have many Gigs the People are thinkig where to go, that is the difference to the past, we went everywhere if there whas a metal gig.

Who are some of your all-time favorite Slovenia bands? Are their any new bands you think the readers should watch out for?
My favorite bands...hm... I think dickless Tracy, Supremacy and Scaffold (also the early noctiferia). The only band in my oppinion to look at from the new ones are definitly septic scum.

Are their alot of clubs, places that metal, brutal bands can play shows?
Nearly every city has his one Club (mostly youghclub) where metal gigs are. But not every club likes brutalnes.

In your opinion what is the best and worst thing about the underground scene today? And what does the term  "underground metal" mean to you?
The best thing is that you can easy promote your music, because we can make contacts thrue the internet, and is much easier to get to other people who like the same things as you. The other side you have a lot of crap going on, I like a lot of bands but at the same time I also dont like some bands.
The term "underground metal” hm... what means it to me. I can say a lot, because I like people who are doing everything out from inthusiasm. As long you are staying focused on the way you decide to take, that doesnt mean you cannot change the direction or you must do always the same, but you must stay on YOUR road, your are underground, if you make your music on the trends that are at the moment, you left the underground!

You handle guitars for the band. When did you start playing guitars? Who are some your influences/favorite guitarist? Besides guitars do you play any other instruments?
I have started 10 years ago. At that time I was listening to black metal and some of that stuff, I liked the norwegian black metal and mostly gorgoroth. But later I heard dying fetus and from that on I am big fan of them. So they are mostly my favorit band and my influence. But we have also other influences like Napalm death, Suffocation, Misery Index, Putrid pile, etc. Beside that I dont play any other instument.

You also handle vocals for the band. when did you start singing? Who are some of your favorite singers? Do you do anything special to keep your vocals healthy? When the band is playing live do you find it hard to do both guitars and vocals?
I started with singing from the first gig in Ormoz, because our former singer could not come so I handled it (I had a voice for this kind of music). My favorite singers are also from dying fetus. Hm... I have one thing that is good for my kind of voice (beer). Not realy, because I have beer, a lot of it ;D...

Well Saso thank you for taking the time to fill out this interview. Do you have any final comments for the readers?
Hey bros and sisters hope to see you some day on some gigs to drink some beer and have a got time... Thanks for reading my interview and thanks to let me doing this interview. Stay sick and brutal!!!
