Hailing from Bologna, Disease Illusion were formed back in 2006 and this one here is their second full-length album to date, 7 years distance from their debut, so we're not dealing with a highly productive band from this point of view, but hoefully they enjoy more playing live than recording stuff and on the live appearances level they do much better. The new album features 8 tracks and clocks excatly half an hour, perfect to be enjoyed in full and at the same time to avoid any sort of boredom. The Italian quintet present us a modern form of Melodic Death Metal with serious keyboard and electronic synth inserts all throughout this material, the atmosphere created I'd say it's a mix between fun and groove and a bit of nostalgy / melancholy at times, but the overall impression is of an energetic and energizing band with reputable technical skills on their instruments and also lead by a good vocalist, versatile and very calculated, always careful to be a support, and addition to the music rather than focusing the attention on him and his skills; from this point of view I'd say Disease Illusion are a good squad, a curdled ensemble that came up with an enjoyable, solid new material that deserves plenty of live representation.
