Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Scars On Murmansk is a new band from south-west of France, formed in summer 2010 around Cindy Goloubkoff (ex-Hypnosis) and Romain Larregain (Silent Opera) on guitars, Pierre Bouthemy (ex-Hypnosis) on bass & vocals, and Jon Erviti (Cylenchar, Silent Opera) on drums.
After the split of Hypnosis, Cindy and I wanted to start something different, new and fresh!!! Of course, we'll never be 20 years old again, but it's really exciting to start a new project with young and talented musicians, to record a first EP, etc...!!! :)

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I would say that we play death-metal with lot of influences, from thrash to progressive. Each one came into the band with his own way of playing, composing, and also his influences and musical background... and that's very interesting!!!
Of course we have now to learn to work together to create something unique and personal, but I think the songs of the EP go on the right way, and we'll try to improve all that on the 1st album!!!

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
They will not have to buy our 1st EP cause we have decided to offer it in Free Download!!! :)
So we hope that a lot of people will be curious enough to download it, and spread the word to their friends if they like our stuff... We need your support!!!

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have just released our 1st EP, "Travelling Through Dark Places", on march 1st, 2011. The very first review seem to be really good, and we hope the following ones will keep rating us quite good!!!

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Not yet!!! We all play or have played live a lot with some other projects, but Scars On Murmansk is a really young band... But some dates should be planned in the months to come!!! We're really impatient to play these songs on stage, but we also want to take the time to purpose the best performance possible...

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I know that it's more and more difficult nowadays to find a good deal with a label... We just try to keep honest and sincere, trying to write the best material possible!!! Our music is made with passion, to meet the need to play and compose music!!!
We really believe in this band and we will do everything that is possible to spread our music around the world... And we know how much work it means!!!

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We're currently working on new material, and hope to record our first album in the end of 2011/beginning of 2012!!! Before that, we should play some gigs, In France mainly... And as soon as an album will be released, we would like to tour the most intensively possible across Europe... And we will do our best for that!!! ;)
