Review:
A duo from USA / Canada presenting here its one and only studio material, a debut album made of only 5 tracks but clocking almost a full hour of playing time, and one that is dedicated to Lance Gifford, the guitarist and drummer of L.S.D. who tragically passed away in 2019. Lance was an active member of the Connecticut Black Metal scene contributing to bands like Godless Rising, Vis Absoluta or his solo project Bitter Peace among others. Metal Archives says this is Lance's last recording, but I kind of doubt it as in the booklet it says the material was recorded in 2016, and since then Lance released a few other materials with other bands. Anyway, it doesn't matter, what matters is that it is finally released and it's another piece of his work that doesn't get lost. Now speaking about the music on it, I have to admit it didn't convince me at all, and it wasn't an easy listening for sure, and that's not because of how brutal it is, but because of the chaotic compositions, the synthetic drums sound, and the awkward Gollum-like screams of the vocalist that unfortunately I can't stand. This is some sort of Depressive Black Metal, mostly mid-tempo and very repetitive, with a few guitar solos that stand out here and there and a couple of melancholic tremolo riffs that are interesting, but the rest, sorry to say it, was torture to my ears. Try it out yourselves to make up your own mind.
