Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Radu Ifrim (guitar player): There are 6 inch of us and I'm new guitar player in the band while the band is fairly new to me with a vague history.
The band released the vid nocturn” album last month and I am here to complete in.
Günes Sensoy (guitar player): I don't know much about the band, and I don't need to know more than I do in order to like its vibe, its members and its music.
I was brought in by previous guest guitarist, Andy Ionescu. I quickly slipped in and started enjoying playing with these guys, are really cool musicians. Great mystic experience.
George Cristopher Duimovici (vox): From the past sight of view some might say it can be found in the intensity of neutron stars.
We are FRIG and we have a long history of people who contributed to our sound which I believe it`s appear in your ears with a different approach.
Our members are Alex Deak (synthesizer/programming/lyrics writter), Radu Baciu (Bass), Alex Dinu (rythm guitar), Radu Ifrim (solo guitar), George Duimovici (voice), Marius Marcu (drummer).
Radu Baciu (bass player): I am the oldest band member along with the synths player: Alex Deak and we are here to explore unknow sounds and to transform in a complete art.
As far as I know the band spring out from a project open by synths player where he tried since 2 years and a half to assembly songs from vid nocturn" album piece by piece to describe a journey through the space of this cold phenomenon.
We get inspired by each other on most of the songs sketching them and give guests members the opportunity to better insert their ideas in a experimental way of creation.
Marius Marcu (drummer): For some reasones related to our avantgarde style we decide to give the auditory the experimental option of sound interpretation.
It remain to be grupped into a live form and we`re still looking forward to present it on stage.
Alex Deak: As my colleagues mentioned above, we tried to sketch, mechanized and not at least fusion with all ideas that we`ve discover and to integrate those in a vid nocturn" album so the auditory will have the open path to our art.
In the beginning was not easy as there were lots of climate changes in the band instrumental side and we have tried to search what it is called professional and ambiant mood for ourselves and for the band music style.
A journey of what this album represents inspired us to walk together and remain connected within its sound fragments and with its sense of approach to the auditory expectations or what they haven`t yet imagine.
For the next questions me, bass player and our drumms player will introduce the other members to tell what it is furthermore in to be express.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Radu Ifrim (solo guitar): I started as a decent metal player with strong influences from the 70’s and 80’s metal bands of such as Black Sabbath & Iron Maiden, by blues player like B.B King, by some thrash metal bands like Testament, Slayer and also by solo rock musicians like Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Batio and Steve Vai.
George Cristopher Duimovici (vox): The root style I consider it to be found in a Post-Metal environment.
We have several influences from Stoner Rock (Somali Yacht Club/Electriv Wizard/Devil Electric) a part of Doom metal (Draconian, Candlemass, Black Sabbath) and drone/post-metal ( Porcupine tree, Type-O Negative and Nine Inch Nails) and last but not least, Amorphis, Gothminister.
Günes Sensoy (guitar player): I enjoy a sound which is harmonious and strong in colors at the same sphere I like 'flamboyant' guitar playing that rocks your mind and soul.
Influences, on my behalf, come from the classics Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Ratt, Dokken, Mr. Big, Dream Theater , and so on as well as modern metal bands like Tool, Disturbed and others because of their vibe.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Radu Ifrim (solo guitar): FRIG is aiming for a different sound compared to the classic ones from interaction with the avantgarde style. The band merge metallic sounds of a industrial metal music with a bit of avantgarde and drone electronics.
George Cristopher Duimovice (vox): Audience should be mostly an open minded fella' who enjoyes different and unique fusion of sounds with influences ranging from Ghost untill Combichrist or Gothminister.
We want to take each listener into a journey through the entire space, starting with "Sfere" and ending with a illustration of called "Exogenesis" - bonus track which it will be available on DVD Limited edition.
By the end of the journey, the deep listener will try to understand the feeling of cold phenomenon throughout the entire Universe and also notice the signature of each band member and much more.
Günes Sensoy (guitar player): It's noticeable that we try to achieve completeness by integrating our inner musical selves naturally with the Universe.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Radu Ifrim (solo guitar): vid nocturn” album was released last month and the band will have first live appearance on amphitheater stage this summer: one for the show itself and secondary for the sound that this place can provide, so the auditory can be better connected with what album itself presents.
George Cristopher Duimovice (vox): Upcomming release is vid nocturn", our debut album, which represents a storm of music composition, so far the media has been kind with our two Youtube releases "Sfere" and "minus 0.010 degrees".
People did provide us a positive feedback and they depicted each influence and band member so far by saying this is definitelly a strange composition ranging from the timber of vox: George Cristopher Duimovici and ending with the amazing psyhedelic synths performed by bands founder member: Alex Deak.
Günes Sensoy (guitar player): We have release vid nocturn", as band's first album and it's a result of lot of work and attempt of achieveing what I mentioned above.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Radu Ifrim (solo guitar): I’ve played live only a couple of times so far in front of small audiences.
We`re looking further for this live in June. As I said, I'm new in the band and don't know much about its previous experiences but I can tell it's had some good stuff.
George Cristopher Duimovice (vox): Related to our upcomming live show is nearing on 16th of June.
We expect from both the opening bands and our own to thake the auditory to the next level of expectations.
We wanted to prepare something really worth watching and hearing as our debut on the undergroud stage and why not going even further than that.
Günes Sensoy (guitar player): We`re looking further for this live in June. As I said, I'm new in the band and don't know much about its previous experiences but I can tell it's had some good stuff.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Radu Ifrim (solo guitar): FRIG become a very interesting music project for some of metal musicians because of the band goals in creating and presenting what it is to take form through a different sound visions, interfering in fact with the mood of every projected beat from graphic art to what those songs are intent to mean.
George Cristopher Duimovice (vox): Theme that we propose here it is not a complicated one.
We are singing about this natural cold phenomenon which translates as "FRIG" in Romanian language.
A natural phenomenon manisfested in the vast dark space, while slowly building a bridge with the human inner nature and subconsciousness as we are still connected.
We'd like to explore the Unviers through our listeners field of view while us, the band, acting as the vessel form of pure sound and interpretation.
Günes Sensoy (guitar player): They should know we're trying to rock the sound of space and that we enjoy it and use its dimensions to do so.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Radu Ifrim (solo guitar): To play live our debut album this is the first goal that we have.
George Cristopher Duimovice (vox): We haven't even started yet so we don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
It could be said that our ideas and perspectives for the near future are yet to come, expending and evolving ourselves while we'll stick to generate even more painted deep space sounds by any means and necessary tools.
Günes Sensoy (guitar player): We intent to give to our audience a different perspective of live experiences to feel what it is inside our songs and what albums will define as theme, it is a vibe feedback.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Günes Sensoy (rythm guitar): Anyone can find and hear us on Undergroundmusic.ro, bandcamp and YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, Discogs and others world radios from main continent and other continents, our 2 releases videos from the debut album vid nocturn": "Sfere" and "minus 0.010 degrees" on Youtube.
