Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Hello this is Okta, the bass player, I'm gonna answer your questions.
Me and Saka, our guitarist, build this band at 2008/2009 as a Technical Death Metal band influenced by Arsis, Necrophagist and Between The Buried and Me. Our EP in 2011 is based on that state of mind. But as time went on, member changes, so our influences also change a lot. By 2014, we listen a lot to 70s prog rock and some japanese music. So right now, we want to expand our music to another perspective.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We put "Adult Contemporary Progressive Death Metal" as a slogan on our site and got a lot of backlash from people because our music is anything but. They do not realize that it is an oxymoron. Our music is like a raging storm of antonyms. We are calm yet break shit. We are terrifying yet melancholic. It is all combine in one album.
Right now we do not influenced by specific bands. We influenced by the whole genre.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Actually they don't have to buy our albums. First priority as a human is to survive. But if our album is part of their plan to survive, please do.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Our first album, Spiral Orchard Pt.1 is going to be released at May 31st and the first single "The String's Eclipse" is already on Vice's Best Indonesian Single of 2017. We also had an EP back in 2011 called A Reversal of Civilization EP and one Split album with Exhumation and Nocturnal Kudeta.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes we play live. But we want to make sure that our live performance is on point. We don't want to be just another band on the bill. There are a lot of bands that play live so much people started to ignore them because people already seen it all. So we choose our gig very carefully
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Our music is pretty different and unique I guess. I mean I listen to a lot of music and nothing sounds exactly like us - we combine Progressive Death Metal with Folk and also Japanese music. I think Sigh came close to the definition, but they do not sound like us.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
This album is just part one of the whole saga called Spiral Orchard. Our next album is going to be the continuation of the Part One. More complicated, longer songs, more serious. Also we planned to have a tour sometimes at the end of this year.
