4 years after their official debut album was released, Hungarian duo Witcher is back with a new full-length. Although it's made by only 4 new tracks and a cover of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake (surprising and well done, no vocals added here), the new album is 40 minutes long, so after all it's fair labeling it a full-length and not an EP. The band continues its journey through Atmospheric Black Metal highlighted by slow to mid-tempo rhythms, prevalent romantic (gothic even) keyboards, rough and raspy vocals, and a drum machine that sounds too synthetic at times but not that much to bother or to distract your attention from enjoying the atmospheres created. The band chose to deliver Hungarian written lyrics, so local fans will definitely enjoy this material more than others, and probably there's a good reason to this choice as this has been the band's way since the beginning. Back to the music, a general romantic, sad, melancholic feeling is what you'll get from it, more than what we're usually used from Black Metal; to me it reminds of the end '90-s - beginning of the '00's bands mixing Gothic Metal and Black Metal, or even of Medieval Black Metal bands. If you think you'll be into that, Witcher's new album might be a good choice.
