Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Abwehrschlacht  was formed under the Winter Fullmoon of 2007/2008. There are two of us in the band currently: Erich von Falkenhayn (A7V Controller/Barbed Wire Entanglements) & Erich Friedrich Wilhelm Ludendorff (5.9" Battery Commander) with
Drum Fire Barrage provided by Machine. We are just putting the finishing touches to our first Demo 'Kaiser Schlaht'

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We play Great War Influenced Black Metal exclusively. The main influences for the band are the events between 28 June 1914 and 11 November 1918.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
To hear an intense slice of Old Skool Raw Black Metal that blisters the skin like Mustard Gas. Listening to Abwehrshclacht is like a week long artillery barrage.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far we have had no official releases, most of the songs have been recorded over several sessions and have only just been collected together for a cassette demo release. We have everything we have recorded up on the Myspace site, and so far the reaction has been very good.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
No, no live shows. It might be considered in the future, but it's doubtful. Black Metal is not a collective experience.

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We have a different take on Black Metal with the emphasis on the First World War. We have also been involved in this scene since 1992 in various bands, so we know what Old Skool realy means.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
In September our first demo, 'Kaiser Schlacht' will be released. It will be released on cassette like in the ancient days. We are working on new material for a self financed 7" release, maybe in early 2011.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
At the moment only on the Myspace page: contact us through that for details about the forthcoming demo...
