Review:
Cool to see both bands on this EP recording their tracks especially for it, or at least that's what I think, which adds a lot of value to the release.
Throneum are a well-known underground Death Metal demon from Poland playing absolutely crushing raw Death Metal fronted by bestial vocals, ferocious rhythm section and a guitar line that at first might seem overly repetitive, but if you "dig deep" you find some excellent dissonant but no nonsense riffs and leads here and that that are the band's salt and pepper. Stunningly brutal Death Metal from the initiate only!
StormVold are a duo from Spain that declare they've been hugely influenced by the now defunct Norwegian Death Metal insane act Molested, and indeed, apart from the band name that's exactly inspired by a Molested EP, the music is on the same path, an absolutely chaotic, terrifyingly brutal, more than oppressive and menacing, with so much speed and devastation going on in it that when the band has its few slower parts (still as raw and visceral sounding though) it truly feels like a breath of air. Brutal is a too soft word for what these guys deliver in their 4 tracks featured here, War Metal fanatics will definitely enjoy it.
Released on tape and CD versions by Hammer of Damnation; the cover art is also something worth mentioning, something a bit different than what you'd usually expect from bands playing bestial music.
