I haven't heard about this one man band before although it was founded back in 2007 and has released two full-length albums, the first one being out on the well-known underground label Dusktone, so I have no idea how much the band's absence from 2012 till 2020 impacted the scene, but what's clear is the project is back up and running, with a new full-length album underbelt, this time out on Belgian Immortal Frost Productions. 6 tracks plus an intro clocking a bit under half an hour of playing time, delivering what I would call a cross between traditional (Norwegian second wave inspired) Black Metal and a groovier Black'n'Roll and a hint of Depressive Black Metal and Bathory-like riffs and choirs, with lyrics diving into personal and even (anti-)social matters, with a phylosophical aproach that's worth exploring. It's not a ground-breaking material, you'll need repeated auditions to discover the hidden pieces, but it sounds absolutely organic, honest, and diverse enough to avoid boredom (I'm just curious what's the link with the ruins and explosions' pics from inside the booklet), so from my point of view it's a well-done record. Unfortunately for Beyond Helvete nowadays it's quite impossible to get a good visibility without something to actually stand out, so this might remain unnoticed unless Immortal Frost really pushes it everywhere, with a massive effort that I don't think will repay them afterwards especially keeping into account what other bands and releases are out on this label lately.
