Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
The songs on “Terrorizer” are a cohesive batch and they definitely have classic and heavy metal elements all the while still maintaining a fresh modern perspective told from the POV of music lovers and fans. The performances are absolutely killer. In our music we try to incorporate things that move us in the music that we listen to and stay true to the reasons why we like classic rock and metal so much. It’s our life blood. We’re just telling our version of the tale and couldn’t be more fired up about this body of work.

How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
A recent interview wrapped up a nice description that I’ll refrain. They labeled Diamond Lane as “energetic hard rock served in a modern soundvest, which comes along with a good portion of fine-tuned heavy metal.” I dig that.

Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
Our producer Rev. Tom Chandler, has a studio at his house in Montrose, CA. It’s a great environment where we can relax and really extract some real flavor in our writing and approach. This was actually one of the least painstaking and most rewarding of all the albums we’ve recorded thus far --- and a dump truck full of fun. We went in with the idea to do a 5 or 6 song album, and the next thing we know we have 18 badass songs that we’ve worked through. The first 9 you’ll get to rock out with on “Terrorizer” and the remaining 9 will get worked up in some fashion or another down the line. 

What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
We were able to fortunately get dialed in with Casey Howard for the "Terrorizer" artwork. Casey has a storied history of doing great pieces and album work for Avenged Sevenfold, Slash and Mastodon amount others. We started the discussions of concepts and really wanted to see what vibe he was picking up from hearing the tunes. He shot back several ideas and we just went back and forth and kept refining the focus. The artwork is totally bitchin’ and feels like it has an old-school vibe to the whole thing. I think artwork and imagery are huge things in the Diamond Lane camp. The reality is, people are likely going to SEE something before they hear it. If it's not enticing right off the bat, the music may never get an opportunity. We've certainly learned a lot about presentation over the years and continue to try and deliver killer and consistent representations of the DL brand. The title ‘Terrorizer’ sums up the theme vibe and subject matter of the songs. We all have terrorizers in our life and they come in many shapes and forms.

What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
I don’t think there were any expectations, and that was the beautiful part. We didn’t have any goals or particular focus just reacting to what felt good when we created it. In that, the response has been overwhelmingly positive across the board. A lot of the same themes weave throughout the responses and reactions in the short time it’s been released.

Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
This release was specific to hard copy album and digital. We’ve independently moved through our first few thousand copies, which is great to see the steady flow. We’re eyeing getting into the vinyl game for the 2015 album we’ll be recording shortly….that’ll be sweet.

Where and how will you promote this new release?
Since last spring, we’ve promoted ‘Terrorizer’ on as many stages as possible. It’s all about putting it out there in new territories. We’re absolutely always looking for the right situation to get involved with, because I know we’d slay on the largest stages with the biggest band out there. We’re ready to seize that opportunity and look forward to doing so in 2015.
