Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band started up in 2005 under the name Endemise. From 2005 to 2010 the band went through numerous line-up changes and various musical styles. In 2011 there was a major line up change with the addition of Vocalist Francesco Falsetto and Bass player Alex Aksentyev who are currently still members of the band. In early 2016 lead guitarist Graham Murphy join the band after a short search for a second guitar player. In early 2018 original drummer and brother of guitarist and founding member Dale Sauve left the band for personal reasons and powerhouse drummer Nick Rodgers was recruited and joined the band officially in 2019 and the band was once again whole.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I would describe the style as black / death metal with symphonic and melodic undertones. Bands such as Septicflesh, Rotting Christ, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Behemoth etc. sort of influence the style but there are dozens of other influences to our sound.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Our music is full of dark heavy riffs, screeching vocals, powerful / fast pace drums and a broad variety of all different sub-genres of metal.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Under our previous name we released numerous demos and EPs and 2 full-length albums (2013’s Far From The Light and 2016’s Anathema) both of which are available as remastered versions under our new name Serene Dark. The previous albums were received well in the public and in media, with highly rated reviews, but never quite broke out of the underground/local scene.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Yes, we play live, currently, due to the on-going COVID-19 Pandemic, all of our live performances, shows and tours have been postponed, cancelled and moved to 2021. That is not stopping us from releasing the album and releasing new music.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are a dedicated, motivated and hard-working band that has been grinding and playing shows for the past 15 years. Our live show is powerful and in your face with our wall of sound. Multiple vocals, full orchestral tracks, and crushing riffs bring a heavy, dark, atmospheric journey to any venue / crowd.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Again with the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic our plans our up in the air, but we are ready to tour and spread our material around as soon as the world will allow for it again.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to our stuff on every and any digital streaming platform (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Google Play), etc. and you can purchase our music from any of those digital distributors or physical copies directly from our website serenedark.com or our Bandcamp site serenedark.bandcamp.com
