Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Neant radical started in 2009 as a way to promote my opinion about the gradual social decline and hatred toward modern "good sounding an good looking media attraction in the world of metal" Doom on.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I would say that it is pretty much a regression in style. I got introduced to metal back in the days with band like norther, children of bodom or even in flames. But i quickly realised there was too much posing and not enough riff. I needed more, therefore i found a black metal compilation from canada wich featured band like malveillance, unheilvoll, geimhre and other band that i cant remember the name (for obvious reason) and was attracted to the punkier side of the music. Then i knew this was the thing i needed, i quickly overfloated the genre trying a lot of modern black metal band (in the 2000) but then, transilvanian hunger sealed the fate. The sound was so unique and unreal, the riff was like none i heard before, the vocal was just plain raw and one could really channel his feeling into the whole album. I think you got to have a lot of regressed pain or hate and some sort of reppressed desire for freedom in this society and some depression mixed together to really feel the album.
To make it short, the 2009 demo was really 90's black metal influenced, mixed with some thrash metal with a punk side that really come from the lack of caring about "beautiful sound" "beautiful drum riff" or even "boring 2 minute solo". It is really stupid to care about how good looking the product will come to sound like, just bash it out with instinct. As for the split with Narfantyr, i began to explore more about the old school music. I think in that time i started to listen to some doom (pentagram, black sabbath, trouble) more thrash/speed (classic band like possessed, venom, bathory) and less of the modern black metal. With more of a "atmospheric" side as i was discovering the power of dark/ambient music. As for my first album (released in mid summer on "The northern cold" production, limited to 100 pro-tapes.) this is really a mix of all of the feeling that the album that stick to me trough the time sound like i guess. From the 60's to today, crust/d-beat/post punk like hellshock, dishammer, joy division, heavy rock like led zepelling, grand funk, tysondog, laaz rockit, king krimson. Allright im bored with the name recitation, put Crystal logic album on now!
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
There is no real reason for someone to buy my music, there is really a ton of bigger, cooler, sounding band than mine, but if you are a freak of honest music, feel free to grab my stuff on the run
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
The demo is sold out and the split is too, i still got some copy of them both at home, my first album will be released in mid summer 2011 (as mentioned before) and i really hope a lot of people will discover it and stick with them with time, the same as lot of band did to me.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Neant radical can not play live right now. As i would need to find session musician, wich is technically impossible right now. i live in a small town with 35'000 villagers, and i never seen someone who owned a manilla road cd. So it is really hard for me to find someone who can cope with my music. Hopefully, i have really great time playing music i enjoy with the few friends who share my musical interest.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
There's nothing else to know that have not been said.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
I am consistently writing riff for Neant Radical. Inspired from a large spectrum of life's event.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
www.myspace.com/neantradical is a good place to start, contact me on my g-mail for more information " neantradical@gmail.com " now that the manilla road cd is over, listen to some cirith ungol!
