Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Antipathic was started the beginning of 2017. Tato and I ( Chris ) have know each other for a bunch of years, but haven’t played in any other bands together before this.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
The majority of our style is modern death metal, but it also has many other elements like slam and grind incorporated. We try to stay within the theme of machines/ autonomous intelligence and how it will become a threat to humanity.
There are just too many influences many to name! For me, the bands that come to mind first are probably Hate Eternal, Dying Fetus, Deicide, and Suffocation. I’m sure Tato probably has many as well.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because spending your hard earned wages on food and a place to live is a waste of money- you would be much better off instead to buy many copies of our new digipack. But, if your priorities are all wrong and you feel that you absolutely need to eat, just download our EP for free instead.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far we have only released the “Autonomous Mechanical Extermination” EP. It has only been out for less than two months, but it has been received very well. It seems to be a great start for the band.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Not with Antipathic we haven’t. Tato and I have played many shows with our other bands, but because we live on opposite sides of the world it makes it a little difficult.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
There’s not too much to know, really. We’re just two dudes making extreme music we want to hear, and hope people also like it enough to blast it through their stereos tell their friends about it.
They should be interested in it because is it the cool thing to do, and everyone wants to be cool, right?
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are about to stream a single the end of June. It’s ‘spoof’ cover of Obituary’s “Don’t Care” called “I don’t give a fuck”. Also, we’re working on new songs for the upcoming full length which will be released probably at the end of the year sometime.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
The EP is streamed through ReverbNation or Bandcamp. For US orders, you can purchase the digipack through Bandcamp, and for Europe the digipack can be purchased through our BigCartel. Thanks for giving the band some of your time!
