Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Diamond Lane was a dream that Jarret Reis and myself (Brandon Baumann) had eons ago when we were teenagers up in San Jose, CA. Bonded by a passion for music and all it entailed, we started playing and pushing the Diamond Lane brand in the early 2000’s. But we were just kids then. We did a bunch of demos and began to relentless hone our craft over the years – plenty of trial and error, growing and learning, and we eventually found ourselves relocating to Los Angeles at the start of 2009. That was definitely a full circle turning point for the band. Getting our feet wet in LA, we were able to comb through a lot of experiences. The line-up in the band now is THE band. We’re rock solid, fired up and ready to share our music with the world one stage at a time. “Terrorizer” is a huge step forward for us as a collective, focused group. We’re looking forward to all the greatness and opportunity that lies ahead in 2015.
Diamond Lane is:
Brandon Baumann – Vocals
Jarret Reis – Guitar
Ray Zhang – Bass
Frankie Lindia – Guitar
Dave Vandigitty - Drums
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Diamond Lane is a hard-hitting, rock n roll throw down, with classic twin guitar attack, rock-solid rhythms and dynamically powerful vocals that combine for a fresh modern take on American Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music. The forefathers of metal inspire us to leave our own legacy and work our asses off.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
A metalhead should buy our albums because there’s always room for quality tunes delivered with honesty and conviction, sprinkled with a bit of badass. There’s no suckage to be found in this camp.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Diamond Lane - Terrorizer [May 10, 2014]
Diamond Lane - Sapphire [2013]
Diamond Lane - World Without Heroes [2011]
Diamond Lane - Save This City EP [2008]
Each release captures a perfect snapshot of those moments in time. Fortunately, each album has found validation in some form or another in the media, and the public reception, in collaboration with our live shows, has been overtly supportive and fanatical at times. We’re blessed to be able to entertain and deliver our version of heavy music.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Playing live is the cornerstone of what we do. That’s where the action is…that’s the reward. Bringing people together in celebration of music is what it’s all about. Our activity is frequent and will get ramped up even more so in 2015.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
What people should know, is that with our latest album “Terrorizer” we’ve cultivated something fresh and very potent from the truth of a young bunch of California hellraisers. All we can do is leave our mark on the world with the tunes that we write, and this is a collection of seriously executed songs from hungry, passionate musicians who have something to prove. In a landscape of oversaturation, we pride ourselves in doing OUR thing, not what someone else wants. That way, we’re assured something pure and reactionary to what we’re thinking, as opposed to something contrived that we “think” people will like. If you’re into hard rock sensibilities with classic metal shades, you’ll be banging your head along in no time.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Tour tour tour, record record record. We’re in pre-production currently and are slated to hit the studio for our next full-length release this spring. We can’t wait to raise the bar and keep moving forward!
