It's cool when you know what to expect from a release just by mentioning the label that released it, and in Godz ov War's case this is true, when you hear something new is out on this label you know from the start it will be damn ugly, uncompromising and as obscure sounding as possible. GraveCoven are no exception from the rule, a duo started in 2015 that apparently likes to take things slow. They released two demos in 2015 and 2016 and those are gathered on this new release, a total of 4 tracks clocking 20 minutes of total violence and debauchery, a mix of Black and Death with Doom influences especially in the guitar tones used, a dirty production, perfect for this kind of music (similar to what War Metal bands use). Among all this brutality one can highlight the catchiness of the tracks, they all come with a few hooks to stick to your mind, and these hooks mostly come from the above-mentioned Doom influences. If you're in for some controlled and well planned devastation this band might just be your thing, at first when I saw they re-released two demos I was a bit disappointed but now I can clearly say these tracks needed more exposure and their re-release on the same CD is totally legit and well deserved. A bit more variety on guitars (solos / leads) will make this band a jewel. Recommended stuff!
