Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band started in 2005 (I think). A few bass players and a vocalist have come and gone, but the core has remained Chris (guitar and vocals) and Branden (drums). And then there's me, Coffin Joe, currently handling the bass and surely destroying Chris and Branden's brain cells, slowly but surely, with the coffin stench that follows me where ever I go.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Ex Dementia is basically an amalgam of death metal and thrash at its core, but with added retardation. Influence wise, everybody has their own favorites. But the main common threads musically speaking are probably Autopsy, Impetigo, Carcass, Death (SBG & Leprosy of course), Obituary, and a general smattering of thrash like old Megadeth and Tankard and things of the like.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We're a fun band to listen to (speaking from having been a fan prior to joining). If you enjoy death metal, thrash, horror movies, and whatever other "immature" things we all love, we're for you. Besides, if you don't buy our albums, I'll kill you.

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Two albums, Thou Shall Repulse and The Red Mass, and an EP, In The Chapters of Horror. Responses from both the public and the media have been generally favorable from what I've heard/read.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We do play live, though performances have been sporadic of late. That will hopefully change in the future. The band has made a few festival appearances aside from the normal shows, notably Maryland Death Fest 2010. We were supposed to play two festivals this year, but were not able to due to extenuating circumstances. So, the shows are out there, and soon we'll be able to repulse ears and eyes on a more regular basis.

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
They should know that we're out of our minds. They should be interested because we're out of our minds... and as we all know, crazy sells.

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Right now we're focused on our new EP, Crack The Coffin. The music is all written, we just need to smooth out structures and tighten everything up and then we'll head to the studio. And then we'll probably commit heinous acts of violence on some unsuspecting persons to procure blood for our hopefully many live appearances.

Where can we listen to your and and where can we buy your stuff?
Anyone interested can hear us at our website (exdementia.net), HPGD Productions Facebook, Reverbnation, Youtube, all the usual suspects. Actual purchases can be made from us directly (currently we only have cds of The Red Mass, but there's more goodies on the way), HPGD Productions, Itunes, and Warlord Clothing if you want shirts. All profits go toward our assorted morbid obsessions and bad habits.
