Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
We are a Montana USA based metal band. We were formed in late 2006 under the name Sonic Demise. Later changed band name in 2008. Eric Horner(guitars vox) and Jessica Horner(guitars vox) are the founding members. Jeff King(bass) and Tim Godbold(drums) joined in 2009...Throne of Malediction has recorded one EP in Early 2009 and is recording a new album for summer 2010 release for a TBA label. Also doing regular shows in the Northwest USA area...Throne is a very eager little band too. We have started working with Misantrof Antirecords in Norway. We will have a song "Black Friday" on their anti-xmas album this year. We also plan on adding our music to their archives. All our members share a true love for music and enjoy what we play. We take pride in our original sound and pure, no frills approach to making songs. We have yet to hear someone name a band we sound exactly like. How many new bands can say that? We are getting a better response to our music than we imagined too. I think it is because we are dedicated to our craft. We all detest crappy day jobs hahaha So we are busting ass now trying to get some merch made and get better gigs. Hopefully Throne of malediction will be around a long time...
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
When Throne started, we had no idea what we would even sound like,we just go with the flow and hope for the best. Maybe doomy, black metal and grungy are the ways we have been described. We just want to be heavy and a bit evil. All members listen to a wide range of music. I would say Cradle of Filth, Carpathian Forest, Candlemass, Sepultura, Danzig, The Cure and Carcass would be good ones to name that influence us...
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because I KNOW they will hear something they have not heard before. It is also not over-produced. We try to catch pure, live energy on our recordings. It would also support some artist's who sacrifice for their art and truly believe in it, live and breath it. Without originality, redundancy reigns supreme. Our music is also pure and personal. It is also that we bring a different vibe too. Music is about that too, not just the actual sound. Plus we have talented individual members......
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Released EP-1 in limited run in February 2009. Also had song "Breath of Life" on Quickstar's Downtown Metal compilation. The EP had a few decent reviews. We are actually not happy with the EP ourselves now. Our new lineup and songs blow those away... Recording a full length album for summer 2010 now...
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We play live all we can. Mostly local shows and in Washington or Idaho USA. We love to play live shows and we are getting better at it too. We are in planning with a certain Norwegian band to join them on their USA tour in 2010. So we trying to get touring and playing live all we can.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
That we are a serious hardworking band that seriously stomps on a lot of big signed acts. We have kickass music we believe in. We have good references in other bands. Constant networking over the last two years has really helped us. Throne also are bringing something new to metal music with our sound. We also already have label interest and some big shows planned. Whether we make money, get signed ect. We will still make music. It keeps us going in an otherwise pointless life and we will leave a mark when we are gone. We honestly have nothing going on, or any larger priorities besides Throne of Malediction. We live in Montana, it is really cold and boring here too.....
Mostly, we make music for the right reasons....
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are finishing recording our album and going to try to get the best gigs available and some merch made. Just to stay afloat and keep making music we like to play...
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
We are so low budget now, we cannot even afford to get merch made yet. Though we do have some demand. Hopefully we can get label help with that too. But we are on Myspace mostly. www.myspace.com/throneofmalediction
Have a listen to the songs, they are not too bad;)Thanks....ER!C/throne
