First of all, congratulations for your new creation, an interesting hard-heavy metal album, will you please tell us the story of the band, how it all start?
Guix : Thanks for your return, we are happy to hear that! The band was created around 2012. Our goal was to release a single (7”), to do a concert and to split. In first time Patrice it’s on the drum, Guillaume was on guitar and me singing. After (around) 2 reps Patrice decided to singing and me to take the bass. After we asked Laurent to join us and it is from there that the motivation was more and more present. We released our first EP in 2015. In 2018 we released a Split EP "665 Les Hordes Metalliques" with our long time friends Iron Slaught. In the same year we released our famous single which was planned at the beginning of the creation of the band and as you can see we still haven't split ahahah! and now after 3 years we are releasing our first album!
How will you described your new creations?
Guix: More mature than previous releases. We gave all our trips on it and that took a long time. We wanted some really cool songs so we decided to go in a studio for the first time. This choice gave the album a whole new dimension that we hadn't achieved until then. Now we hope it will please.
Is there good compositions or bad compositions on it? (in my opinion they aren’t)
Darquos : We prefer to think that there is not ah ah!! We are very proud of the entire album.
Laurent: We love them all. If we thought that one song would be less good than others, it would simply not be seductive on the record. This is also what almost happened with the title "Blanche". This is the last track we wrote for the album and we had never actually played it together. After recording it, we didn't like the result. So we went back to our room for a few days and reworked some vocals and guitars parts. He's one of my favorites on the album now.
Would you be so kind to explain what every song is all about?
Darquos : The first one, called “L’Exode” is a mix of Scifi and mythology. It talk about the deesse Nout who saved the egyptians by exiling them with an atlantes secret machine. “Le Couvent” is about a convent completely dedicated to evil as the same as the 1994 movie “Dark Waters”. “La chute des Titans” talk about an imaginary fight between humans and gods VS Titans. “Le Taureau d’Airain” is a terrific true story. “Conquérants” is a tribute to valorious vikings for their incredibles sea trips. “Bladr” is an ode to the viking god. “Blanche” is a true story too. It’s about a young girl sequestred by is parent in dark room during 25 years. For read more about this really sad story, take a look on Blanche Monier in the web. “Heavy Metal” is pure street violence by “hardos” in the same atmosphere of the movie “The Warriors”.
What themes do lyrics approach?
Darquos : Principaly legends, mythologies, occultism & ancient civilizations
The productions it is also very good, did you have good time in studio?
Guig : Yes, we had a great time in the studio. Matthieu from the Record It studio helped us a lot and allowed us to use techniques that we were not used to do (first time we worked in a studio other than our local one). He was a great help. For the Mixing and Mastering part it was the same with Javi, who, thanks to his experience and his listening skills. We had to adapt to his way of working, he managed to understand our sound and make it come out perfectly. We are more than happy to have worked with these two people.
What can we expect from your new album, will be in the same line with your latest?
Laurent: It is in the same line as our old records. When the 1st EP came out in 2015, we had only been playing together for 1 year. If we were friends before playing together, we only got to know each other musically in recent years. In addition, we have a much better command of our instruments now, which allows us to be a little more ambitious and mature in our new songs.
What hobbies do you have except music, by the way your favorite musicians are?
Guix : For me, except music, I have two hobbies since long ago it’s the video games and first rugby I have been playing rugby since I was 3 years old. It’s difficult to choose my favorite musician but i choose Steve Harris and Glen Tipton. Two different instruments but two excellent musicians in their field!
Darquos : Plenty! Retro gaming (golden age of arcade machines), Magic the Gathering (play a lot in the 90’s and recently put my head back in, horror movies, occultism, nature, life wild, celticism, etc.
Laurent: I like to do graphics, album covers, posters, ect ... I also like football, I am a supporter of Olympique de Marseille and watch historical documentaries on TV. For my favorite musicians I would quote Ronnie James Dio, Tommy Iommy, Ace Frehley, Martin Van drunen, Steve Harris, Rob Halford and Of course Guillaume Dousse!
Guig: Apart from the music ... Frankly I don't know haha! More seriously, I play in another family cover band which makes music very present in my life. Afterwards I like to cook and eat well too hihi. For the musicians I would quote Angus young, KK Downing & Glenn Tipton, Slash, The Blues Brothers and my parents Thierry and Virginie without whom I would not be here to write to you! They're not too bad guys from Tentation too!
The cover illustration is interesting, who’s ideas were and the meaning?
Laurent: In putting together the cover, we spent a lot of time together talking about what we wanted. Everyone spoke about their wishes and we mixed it all up by giving our instructions to the very talented Carlos Palma Cruchaga
In the end, you have the final word for all our readers…
Thank you for your support and your welcome, see you soon in concert!
