Total Annihilation are around since 2006 and this is their third studio album, an 8 tracks effort clocking 43 minutes of playing time. Thrash Death Metal is the name of the game here and right from the first track it's quite clear the Swiss quintet is an experienced squad in this field as they manage to deliver a massive and impenetrable wall of sound made by killer catchy guitar riffs supported by excellent leads and solos balancing between chaotic and melodic passages, varied and powerful drumming and subtle but backbone-like supporting bass line (that has it's foreground moments as well), all these lead by a vocalist that sounds like a Lemmy meeting Angelripper gone Death Metal. The production is top, not overly-polished but clear enough, absolutely perfect for this type of music, but that's only to emphasize the catchiness of each song, from the memorable riffs to the repetitive refrains this band knows how to gain the listener's attention. Listening to this album you start wondering why is this band still in the underground because apart from the fact that the tracks are too long (some are over 6 minutes long), the rest is flawless. If you like big fat, catchy riffs and angry as hell rhythm section in your Metal, don't avoid this band's latest offering!
