Review:
To be honest at first, after 2-3 tracks I was not at all convinced I will have a good time playing this album, I thought it's just another Thrash Black Metal album under the sun to bore the fuck out of me, but I'm so glad I was wrong! This Polish quartet was founded in 2017 and what we have here is their debut album, released after a few splits and an EP. The band kept it's initial direction, but somehow polished and enhanced it without loosing that visceral aggression and don't-give-a-fuck attitude. So we're talking about a whirlwind of Thrash Black Metal, mostly fast paced but with plenty of mid-tempo inserts and melodic touches on guitars to open it to a wider audience this time. There are still plenty of Rock'n'Roll touches to colour this even more, and although most of the time the structures are following a generic pattern of this genre, there are plenty of rhythm changes and catchy riffs to make it interesting and even surprise the listener at some point. All of them are giving their best on this debut album, but the vocals are capable of making Witchfuck stand out from the crowd, are giving the listeners something they can pinpoint the band after; evil, comprehensive, unapologetic hateful vocals absolutely perfect for this type of music. Also well worth mentioning is the cover and booklet artwork for this release (by Sars & Jrmr Artworks) which is an A+++ work, one of the best I've seen in years, one that could make you buy the CD only to make your collection stand prouder. All in all a very impressive debut album by a band that's a mandatory follow for the future!
