Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
The EP was self-released, and is a good representation of what the band is after- a good production with songs that are catchy. All three songs play into the same main theme. “Apparatus” is about mechanizing humans to fight wars, and creating hybrid killing machines out of people. “Molecular Deviations” is a song about genetic mutation and laboratory’s manipulating humans for profit. The final track is the title of the EP, “Autonomous Mechanical Extermination” and is written from the perspective of the machines as they wage a war on us. I think we are definitely happy with the release, and the positive response it has generated.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sound like anything we might have heard before?
To sum up our sound in one genre or style it would probably be ‘modern death metal’, but it has a lot of sub genres of extreme music mixed together. Some of the parts of songs may sound similar to a particular style, but only for a short while, because we change the feel of the songs often. I think it fits well with this low-attention span world we live in (and I can relate). If I want to listen to the same riff repeated 50 times, I’ll jam some of the classic metal albums from the 90’s. When I want some excitement, I’ll listen to something released more recent.
Where was it recorded, and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
We recorded pieces of all songs separately- both in Italy and the US. All guitars and drums were tracked at my studio in the United States, and Tato recorded the bass and vocals in Italy where he lives. It probably took us about 2 months to write and record all three tracks.
The songs on the final EP are actually not the original versions of those songs, and actually there were entire tracks that got cut because they just were not brutal enough. I actually started to feel bad because we would both record a part for a song, and then I would email Tato a day later and say “Bro.. these guitar riffs.. they are too weak. I need to change them” hahah. This happened many times. Thankfully, we are both perfectionists and want to present only the best version of the songs, so he was always cool about the changes.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover artwork was drawn by Sidjimbe Art. It does reflect the theme and the lyrics which all relate to technology, and how robots and machines will soon destroy humanity, because we are lazy sacks of flesh. HA!
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
Probably the goal for this release is to create an interest in the band. I’ve given and received recommendations to friends about bands that were relatively unknown, and it’s cool when anyone hears a new killer album they love. We hope Antipathic can be one of those bands.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats?
It was released first digital, and then in a CD/digipack format.
How many copies were pressed?
The EP was pressed as a digipack, with a limited run of 100.

This release has been promoted entirely via the internet, mostly through social media.
