Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Andrew and Nick have been playing music together for about 12 years now and have similar progressive metal influences. They formed the band in 2016, and were quickly followed by Shaun on bass and Branson on Drums. Shaun is mostly influenced by punk and doom music, and has been playing in bands since his early teens. Branson is our black metal fanatic.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We have been describing ourselves as Post/Progressive Death Metal. Our primary influences are Opeth, Isis, Enslaved, and Ahab.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
We strive to create something unique by combining multiple styles of music into songs longer than 10 minutes. Our debut album is a concept album, and in addition to flowing between genres with well orchestrated transitions, we also connect the individual tracks with interludes. This creates a very immersive listen that we feel speaks to fans of multiple subgenres of metal, while exhibiting our unique voice.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Our debut album, The Heavens Are Not On Fire..., will be released on October 26, 2018.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We have performed live locally, but we plan on playing outside of Houston following the release of our album.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are a unique blend of Post Metal, Progressive Death Metal, Black Metal, 70's Progressive Rock, and Ambient. We feel that our music reflects the diversity of our individual members and of our Houston home.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are currently focusing on the release of our debut album. Once it is released we have plans to play shows around Texas and Louisiana.
