Review:
Stardust is an unsual name (to say the least) for a Black Metal band, but here we have a band that's been around since 2010 although they only managed to release this debut album 8 years after their foundation. Like (probably) most German Black Metal bands, Stardust uses native tongue lyrics so getting into the atmospheres they create here is not complete if you don't speak the language, and I think lyrics are a pretty serios aspect in Stardust's music. Talking about the compositions, Stardust offer a mix of mostly mid-tempo to fast paced Black Metal with plenty of accoustic inserts that induce a meditative / nostalgic feeling towards the listener. The band's major aim seems to be to transmit a state of mind rather than showing off their skills or speed, the compositions take their time to settle in, nothing sounds forced or rushed, and all in all it's a very well thought material where rhythm breaks are also present to surprise and keep things interesting, so as a debut album I think Stardust succeeded to bring something valid to the table. Check it out yourselves if you're into DSBM, Ambient BM, Atmospheric BM or Melodic BM.
