Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
My name is Laura, I’m a Chilean singer and songwriter living in Canada and The Inferno Doll is my solo project. I released my first solo album called “Dollmination” in 2015 and will release a new EP called “Sacrifice” on October 30th. For both releases, I worked with guitarist and producer Gabriel Hidalgo from Chile.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I mainly write and perform gothic hard rock/metal with elements of black metal and industrial and the music is inspired by gothic fiction, dark romance, and personal experiences. My main influences are Devil Doll, The Phantom of the Opera, as well as visual artists, characters from books or shows. They are too many to list!
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
I can’t really tell someone they should buy my albums. But if you are into gothic literature, dark romance or the legend of Dracula and you like bands such as Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy or Myrkur, then listen to what I do. If you like it, you can support me by buying my music or streaming the music on Spotify.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
In 2015, I released my first solo album called “Dollmination” which was very well received by fans and media.
Now on October 30th, I am releasing worldwide in all streaming platforms a new EP called “Sacrifice”. And its physical release will be on December 11th.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
I do. But due to the situation (Covid), we’re all living in today I do not plan to perform live. Let’s see how 2021 looks and hopefully I can bring The Inferno doll show to the stage again.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I’m a solo artist. I come from Chile and I relocated to Canada in 2016. I mainly write and perform gothic metal and my music is inspired by gothic fiction, dark romance and personal experiences.
So, if they are interested in any of these topics, I think they would enjoy the music of The Inferno Doll as well.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
As a solo artist, right now I’m focused on the release of my new EP “Sacrifice”. After that, I’m going to start writing the next album I plan to release in 2021 and, if possible, perform live.
