Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
King Ov Wyrms was originally started by Michael Sanchez and Reymundo Romero the two founding members of Blackened Prog Metal act Pain Patterns in an effort to make a more aggressive musical display. King Ov Wyrms went through many line up changes only leaving Michael Sanchez in the mix to eventually take on full band responsibilities making the bands debut a solo project performed, written, and produced entirely by Michael.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Our style is definitely a strong cross of old school style Death Metal in the vein of Morbid Angel and Bloodbath with more modern elements of Death Metal and Black Metal mixed in. The writing and inspiration of the band were mostly given towards early Bloodbath, Belphegor, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Dark Funeral and Watain.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
If you have a passion for Death Metal and Black Metal our music is meant for you, it’s a strong release of extreme anger and aggression with many nods towards classic Death Metal worship.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
So far our debut single Threnody is all that has been released to very positive acclaim. Many fans of our music have stated that Threnody displayed a very flawless attempt at blending both Black and Death Metal together with extremely enjoyable sonic qualities.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
King is only a solo recording project at the moment, with the lack of a full lineup and current public restrictions we do not have a clear view of if we can manage to pull together a live performance.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
King is pioneered by the multi-instrumentalist Michael Sanchez who also performs in Blackened Prog Metal act Pain Patterns, Michael was also both the Bassist and Lead guitarist for Power Metal act Judicator. King Ov Wyrms is a solid display of Michael’s abilities as a song writer and multi-instrumentalist in the key factor of he performed the debut album Lord Ov Thornes entirely by himself and even took on the production elements from his home studio Odyssey Sound Studios.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
With the positive feedback coming in very strongly from our debut single alone I look forward to seeing the reception of Lord Ov Thornes and I’m already working my hand at the follow up to our debut album. There’s some talk at the moment of branching out King into a full recording band in the near future but I’ll have to wait to get some more details out on that matter.
