Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Subservience has been a band since 2010 and we have certainly had our fair share of members, some that have had a huge impact on the band.
However each time a member has left, the band has taken a new form and our music has naturally progressed so it has always felt fresh. To us it feels like this band has only just started.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We play death metal. Brutal, fast, but with a ton of groove.
You can't play death metal and not be influenced by the likes of Bolt Thrower, Death, Entombed etc. but we have a wide range of bands we admire and inspire us in what we do, i'm sure each individual member would give a different list. We're not afraid to throw some out there influences into our music, whether people notice them or not!
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Because how else will we afford all the hookers and hardcore narcotics?
Seriously though, all we ask is that people check us out. If you enjoy it then buy something, we're never going to make money from this but everything we get from sales goes back into the band and helps us progress, it's really appreciated.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have released 3 EPs so far that have all been well received, our last EP especially showed a leap forward and our debut album carries on this trend. We've had few reviews appear for this so far and they have all been very positive.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We have played everywhere and with everyone, including slots at Download festival and Hammerfest and played with bands from Blood Red Throne to Neil Buchanan's Marseille.
Now we have a new line-up and our debut album on the way we are looking to book some shows up to promote the album, keep an eye on our social media for these dates!
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
If I was to sum us up i'd say we're a hard-working,committed band playing no-bullshit death metal for no reason other than we love to do it. We're incredibly grateful for any interest/support we get, but we'll be doing this either way.
Plus we're very talented, handsome and humble, so there's that.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Get back to playing live and then start working on new material
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
