Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Well, AdvenA was founded in 2012 by Chris Kolias (answering your questions right now) and Florian Havemann. We were two friends with the idea to get on stage, how romantic, isn’t it? We’ve chosen the name “AdvenA”, cause we both wanted to have a Latin or german word for it, and this name (which we accidently found in my Latin dictionary) seemed perfect. It means something like “the stranger”, what curiously seemed to apply on our music very well.
However, as we were just those two guys, not to mention we haven’t had any type of something like a a rehearsal room, there was an urgent need for new band-members. First, we found our drummer Dennis due to a recommendation. By fluke, we then got a rehearsal room next to a recording studio. With these impressive conditions, we were able to find Dodo as our second guitarist, Daniel for the vocals, and last but not least, Gumpi on the Bass. It was the first serious band project for all of us. Up to this point, no one has had a spark of experience.
As soon, we were busy recording our first album “Realität”, but it took three exhausting years to get this piece of music done, cause, since it was self-made, we tried to make it perfect…ever and ever again. It was finally released in 2016, what a proud day, wasn’t it?
In the same year, we got on stage for the first time, and immediately started to play shows far away from home, throughout whole Germany, Austria and Czech Republic, and yeah, the journey is still on the go.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We’re used to call it “Progressive Thrash Metal”, but that especially matches the new music I’m currently writing. Realität is more of a mixture of Metalcore and Melodic Death Metal, but as I just said, our style will radically turn as we’ll release new stuff.
We’re up to bring dramatic scoring and epic atmospheres with orchestral and percussive elements into our music. Nothing will stay the same!
Due to I’m composing the music single-handed, the influences of the band are really close to my own influences. There are bands like Children of Bodom, As I lay dying, Kalmah, Testament on one, and Dream Theater, Opeth, Ensiferum, Wintersun, SepticFlesh on the other hand, but I think my biggest influence are personal feelings, nature, silence, yeah even silence can be a great influence to create something loud!

Why should a Metalhead buy your demos/albums?
The better question would be “why not?”. To my ears, our music is new, fresh, alive. We’re young, It are bands like us, which one day will be the Iron Maiden of tomorrow. In 20 years, you’ll find bands on the billing of big festivals, which nowadays, come up with something like 5 shows a year.
On the point, if you like Thrash metal, but also melodic and some, how should I say, atmospheric parts and ambiences, just come over and give us a try! Maybe we’re exactly the band you were waiting for. We’re not Metallica, but that doesn’t mean we can’t create something that will blow your mind!

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
As I just said, we released our Debut-Album “Realität” in Dec 2016. Since then, we played under its flag on nearly 30 shows, and the reception reached from “okay” to “absolutely amazing”. Of course, there’ll always be some guys, that don’t like your stuff, but hey, those are not that much as you would expect.
For example I remember back on our show in Prague in Dec 2017. As we started playing, no one knew us, and when we were finished, the venue gave us the go to continue playing, cause there wasn’t any show before, which was that powerful! The audience was simply astonished to us, THAT WAS QUITE AMAZING!
But of course, we’ve had lots of interviews and reviews, even in the local newspapers and some smaller radio stations. They all reported that our music is different, something new, something they wouldn’t expect from a small band like us. We’re very pleased that there’s so much positive feedback to us from everywhere we go! THANK YOU!

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Of course we do! We’re one of the most active metal bands in the entire region so far! 20 shows a year, and we’re up to go further with it!
Til now, we’ve given shows in whole Germany, Austria and Czech Republic, planning to expand to Croatia, Switzerland and Italia in near future. So far, we’ve also been playing with some big deals like Eisregen, Debauchery, Hämatom, J.B.O, Rage, or Copia. Proud to say that in this comparatively short amout of time that it took us to come that far!

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
I tell you what…we are young, motivated, and we try to reinvent the wheel with our music! I can only speak for myself, but I’m putting in loads of time and financials to make our music great and find people to find it great too!
I’m personally representing the radical approach, that you can sell almost each type of music and art in general. Our music is not embarrassing but new, so I bet we can have a great future if we stop dreaming of it like other bands and start to work on it, now! That’s exactly what we’re about to do!

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Our next goal is to record new stuff. New songs are on their way, a wall of new dramatic and unique music, that will drill in your mind!
Til then, we try to play as many shows as possible, as long as we won’t lose focus on the preparation of the new songs. But in fact, some of our decisions are very impulsively, and therefore I cannot certainly predict what’s about to happen in case of shows and ideas for the near future! Stay tuned, we’ll keep up to date!

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to our music at all common streaming platforms and providers, such as Spotify, Amazon music, Deezer, Groove, Google Play, Itunes, YouTube etc.
Our album can be bought from either from amazon, or directly from our shows! You could even text us, so we’ll send you a hand-signed CD if you’d like!
