Review:
The year of the pandemic brings a new EP from this Bavarian quintet founded back in 2009, an EP that probably makes the link between their second full-length Necromantic Rituals (2018), and an upcoming opus. The 6 tracks featured here are damn excellent! A mix of Heavy, Thrash and Death Metal that can easily appeal to fans of all these genres, especially since the band is tight as hell, their music is melodic, metallic, neck-breaking, catchy and memorable, plus it offers something more, an interesting topic which the EP concept and lyrics are based on: the witch persecutions in Franconia from early 17th century; to enhance the atmosphere the band also used samples from classic horror movies, a fine touch I might add. The 20+ minutes of music on this EP are mostly mid to fast paced rhythmed, based on a heavy rhythm section backbone, infectious guitar riffs, melodic leads, and comprehensive semi-growling vocals; imagine a meeting point between Judas Priest, Amon Amarth and Kreator and you're not far from the truth. As an extra mention I'd say the band also released the EP on gatefold vinyl by themselves and the whole concept looks more than impressive, professional, detailed, clean, well-though. Killer band!
