Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
I first started writing songs in 2003. Very soon I dreamt of writing, recording and producing my own music however, in the end it took me about seven years to complete my debut album BLACKNESS AND WHITE LIGHT released in 2010. So during those years I wrote songs, improved my skills, slowly collected instruments and recording devices, built a studio, founded the label SOLANUM RECORDS and produced the album and I was also lucky enough to meet my drummer Mr. Franz Löchinger.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
I see Quorthon from Bathory as my biggest influence but more himself as an artist than his music, as I was impressed by his uncompromising way of creating his art. Of course I do not try to copy any band or sound but there are many artists I really admire and I do like Black Metal, Gothic, Oldschool Hardrock and Alternative the same way. For example I am convinced that someone could hear influences from Enslaved, Black Sabbath and Anathema in my music, still hoping to have created an individual Rusty Pacemaker style, so allow me to call it RUSTY METAL :-)
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Art is always something very personal and I try to write my music in the most honest way as possible, hoping to be able to create an individual style. Consequently the publication of a peace of art is an invitation to everybody to share the artist's thoughts and feelings. I invite everybody to enjoy my music!
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
BLACKNESS AND WHITE LIGHT, my full-lenght debut album is my only release until now. The album has been reviewed by several international webzines and it seems to me that most of them appreciate it's individual character and the passionate way of creating my music. Every review really motivates me to move on and work hard on the next album.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
I would never say never but generally RUSTY PACEMAKER is a one-man-no-show-band.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
If someone takes the time to listen to my songs carefully I am convinced that he or she will have a beautiful music experience and I hope that this makes my project worth to be mentioned and discussed.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
I do not have a specific master plan. I just love to write songs and I will be doing this as long as I want to and as long as I am able to. Currently I am writing new songs and I hope to come up with a new album within the next 12 to 18 months.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
