Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
Very happy with the result. Dan (Swanö) did a great job on the mastering again, a pleasure to work with. The writing/recording/mixing process went much easier than the first EP as well.
Our music is a mix of ambient electro and death metal, sort of Tangerine Dream meets Hypocrisy. It is a compilation of stories relating to our scifi universe where a hostile nanomachine race infiltrates the society of 25th century Earth.
First track, 'Lanterns', is about a squad of resistance fighters, who found a working weapon to wipe out the nanomachines. The end on the song is left to the listener to decide who won the fight, it could go beither way. 'Tangier' is a song about how the nanomachines came to Earth and what happened before the war started. 'The Bastion' steps inside the head of the infected and how they helplessly try to fight the mind control of the aliens. 'The Citadel' tells a tale of survivors trying to find a fabled safe house. 'Ghosts' is another story of survivors looking for safe haven in the turmoil.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
I guess electro death metal would be a good label. Nothing to do with dance music though, we take our electro influences from bands like Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Tycho, Pink Floyd, Portishead and so on. The metal side is heavily influenced by mid-90's melodic death metal, bands like Hypocrisy, Dark Tranquillity, At the Gates, Dissection.
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
It was recorded and mixed by us in our home studio and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound Sweden during summer 2014. With modern recording technology becoming so affordable in the last decade there is hardly any point to rent a studio for tracking.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
The cover is an image of one of the infected in their last stages of becoming "an ascended being". The aliens true form is something that exists in multidimensional form and manifest as something that looks like fire in our reality. The topics for the lyrics are about how the situation
evolves from invasion, war and possible peace and co-existence.
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
It is the second part for our scifi EP trilogy. The third final part will be released sometime during 2015. Our aim is to tour in northern Europe and Baltic during next year. Then maybe start writing a full length album. Or make a pre-sequel trilogy of EP's, who knows.
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
The EP was released as digital download on Amazon, iTunes and Bandcamp, and a 200 copy CD pressing.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
We will begin touring in Finland, northern Europe and the Baltic area in Jan 2015.
Where can we order it from?
It is available on the usual Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, Deezer.
