Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
This is the 2nd Ep of DASAP, released on january of 2014. This Ep is more Death/Black than the 1st one. Basically i re-arrange 2 old songs and wrote 3 new songs for this Ep. I'm satisfied with it. As i do all by myself from writing to mastering, from my point of view there is some improvement in the sound than the previous one.
How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
I try to mixed different style, but we can say that it is black/death metal. I have no limit on song-writing. if i want to do only black or death or grind or sludge or whatever, i do it. It will always be extreme music. But anyway you can put your own label on it, i dont care. I play DASAP music.
Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
All material are record in my own studio. It's a little "home-studio" but i regularly improve and invest in new hardware or software to always release something that change from previous material. Song-wrinting and recording always takes long time, i have many other things to do (like everybody), like going to job every day and taking care of my family. I had less time than before but i try to fix target. For example, i want to prepare a real album for the next release and for that i will try to do it in approximately one year.
What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
For this Ep, artwork has been done by myself. The topics are often based on human beings and decay of our society. Artwork is linked to the content but you will have to find by yourself... You can also create your own story on it. Music is for everyone, so everyone could see what he want...
What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band's aims at the moment?
I have no particular expectation. i am nobody . I do music, try to do some promotion and if people like it, its OK for me.
What DASAP wish is to have one or some label who accept or want to release material and promote it. For the rest, i dont care...
Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
This Ep should be released by ColdRaw Records (UK based label) with some bonus song in late 2014. Only 66 copies!
This year 2014 is a anniversary for me, as i released my first one man band demo 20 years ago in 1994. So ColdRaw offered DASAP to release "don't worry..." and add as bonus 2 of my first demo recorded in 1994 and 1996. To be honnest, its more a gift for me ! But I'm happy with that.
Where and how will you promote this new release?
No idea, some news on webzine mostly, and i will do something like 25 or 30 copy to send to fanzine, webzine, label to get some interview or review. And maybe someone will be interested to sign it! Its hard for me to find enough time to do a real and good promotion.
