Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Nekrodaimon started at late 1998 as a one man band. From 1998 to 2000 I had composed a promo that I recorded at 2000,when I had the chance in a studio in a nearby city, the self titled one. In this promo Filosofem, played drums, but he left for personal reasons after its release.
This first promo has 2 tracks with greek lyrics, and a heavy/thrash/black metal style. For 10 years I was composing songs for many bands that I played, U.L.V. (released a promo in 2003-atmospheric black /heavy metal), Monastery Desecration (released two demos 2008, 2009 and soon our third 2010 one is going out-old school black metal), and some more projects, but also I was composing new material for Nekrodaimon. In 2009 I decided it was time to record my new stuff, this time with professional sound (production and mix was done by Thanos Karapanos of Winter's Dawn, and I am fully satisfied with the result), and I released a 3 track promo ("Fobos Archon") from the upcoming 6track Demo "Pan Gar Esti" which will be released soon. I have also ready in rehearsal form some more Nekrodaimon tracks, and now I am working on next, second demo.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music? The Mucis style I play is best described as BlackCore Metal or BlackMetalCore! It has some Death/Thrash and Classic Heavy Metal elements, and next demos, will have many more, a variety that will make them Unique! The bands that infulenced me are bands mainly from the Greek Black/Death Metal scence, bands as Rotting Christ, Necromantia, Varathron, Zemial, Agatus, Kawir, Unholy Archangel, Lemegethon, Havorum, Septic Flesh, Nightfall, Exhumation, Selefice, Medieval Demon, Vorphalack, Zephyrous, and many more. Black Metal scene in general and bands like Beherit, Blasphemy, Profanatica, also the Norwegian scene with bands like Burzum, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal, Dodheimsgard (DHG), Ved Buens Ende, In the woods, and some classic thrash death and heavy metal bands like Onslaught, Artillery, Razor, Sodom, Pentagram (us), Spiritual Beggars, Carcass, Death, Obituary, etc
But what made the difference is that I listened to much Hardcore/metalcore/thrashcore/deathcore bands. Madball, Sick of it All, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Pantera, Agnostic Front, Discharge, Wolfpack, Stampin Ground, and bans like these made me belive that a marriage of Black Metal And Hardcore would sound Great. And thats what I did with my new demo. The best example of this marriage is Fobos Archon track.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Well, Nekrodaimon-Promo 2009 is free to download. So anyone can listen to it, and then he can decide if he wants to buy the demo, or not to buy it. As a Metalhead I would buy it because it includes the spirit of old-classic metal and Balck Metal but with a new-refreshing Core breath, something that will be more visible on next demos.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
As I mentioned before, Nekrodaimon has released a promo (originally on tape) at 2000 (which will be available for donloading soon on myspace) that selled quite many copies (despite its awfull sound and poor quallity), and a promo at 2009, which is only available for downloading. The Demo 2010 will be released soon by an English Label (if everything goes ok), and then we will see!
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
As a one man band (Nekrodaimon) we havent played lives. But I have played some lives with Monastery Desecration, and we had the idea of covering some Nekrodaimon tracks. Maybe we will do this at a future live.
What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?Labels and promoters should listen to the promo first, and then - if they agree with this - they should see that something new has been born here! And my plans for future releases include many much more "surprises", I am speaking about the music style (which always will have this BlackCore element - but not only), the guest appearences, and more...
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
The plans for the future is to record my second demo with Nekrodaimon and give some time to my projects this summer. But in first priority I always have Nekrodaimon.
