Some (or most?) would say Paul Speckmann is getting too old for this shit, and some (definitely most!) would say Rogga Johansson is way too involved in countless other bands and projects to keep this project alive, but somehow it works, and it works like a charm I might add! The new album, their 5th under this moniker, is a Death Metal blast! Paul seems hungrier than ever to show and teach his vocal skills, while Rogga is delivering some excellent groovy and catchy guitar riffs that, all on a very consistent, meaty rhythm section layer, organic sounding, very simple and efficiently delivered. 8 tracks of old-school Thrashing Death Metal music that will appeal to fans of both US Master-like type of this genre as well as to the followers of the classic Swedish Death Metal bands; mostly fast paced, to your face, but jam-packed with catchy riffs and the occasional killer guitar solo, The Germs of Circumstance is a fantastic material, one that if it would have been released in the early 90's it would have been a trademark for the genre. Death Metal stripped to it's very core, crafted by masters and delivered with style!
