Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Breag Naofa started at the end of 2010. We had all been in previous bands, most of them hardcore or punk and we decided we wanted to mix it up. Experiment a little more with pedals, longer songs, and ambient sounds.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We are a good mixture of post-metal, crust, doom, and d-beat. A lot of bands we take influence from are Neurosis, Fall of Efrafa, Cult of Luna, Tragedy, His Hero is Gone, Year of no light, and a ton of others that blazed the trail way before we were around
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
Probably because all the most excellent things come at a price, and we're most excellent.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We have released an untitled full length LP, Split LP with Monuments Collapse, Split 7" EP with children of god, a second "untitled LP that is out this year, and a self released EP that will be out later this year as well. We seem to get good responses from all around. We've had a few reviews from prominent metal zines and media outlets, most notable Alt Press and a couple of metal magazines.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We play mostly in the pacific northwest due to most of the members in the band being older and having "dad" jobs. We try to travel down the west coast every few years, but we are constantly playing in seattle and try to keep the crowds varied by having different styles of bands play with us.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Promoters should know that one time we did something very controversial, but then we covered it up, then no one knew what it was, and it was right behind them, and it always will be right behind them, they just don't know it...watch your backs!
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
We are already in the works of coming up with a new concept to write for next year. We try to keep each release a little different, but not too far away from one another so people don't get bored and/or scared off. We'll be experimenting with a few new ideas for 2018 and hopefully writing soon.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
breagnaofa.bandcamp.com has all of our music. You can buy directly from us or i'm sure our Label, Halo of Flies, would be happy to move some units as well to keep their light bill paid off.
