Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band started in December 2003 as a jam duo with Misiek (rhythm guitar) and Chief (drums) as members. In 2005 Radek joined on bass and vocals and next year the band recorded two demos. The same year Radek left and two new guys joined - Domo on bass and Acid on vocals. In this line-up, the band have recorded their first EP - "First Blood" (2007) and album - "Winter of My Heart (2008). In 2009 Thor replaced Chief on drums and I joined on vocals (Acid left in March next year) and Lewy joined on lead guitar. We put out the next full-length, "Follow the White Mouse" in February 2010. In the meantime, there have been some more line-up changes: Beton replaced Domo on bass, Deviant took over drum duties from Thor in early 2011, only to be replaced by Lukass in the winter of the same year. In this line-up we have recorded the "Insanity Relapse" EP in May 2012 and we are getting ready to record our third album next year.
Misiek is the spiritus movens of the band and the only founding member left in the line-up. Beton combines playing in Neuronia with being the leader of the death metal horde Mesmerized and also handles bass duties in Sphere and Anticipate, and has also been the vocalist of Gortal. Lewy is also playing in a few bands playing lighter rock. Lukass also plays in the melodic death metal band Whichheaven - currently on hiatus. I myself have previous vocal experience with some bands in my hometown of Lublin and in Warsaw.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
There's no real way of describing it, as it is really a mixture of styles. I would say thrash and heavy metal are the main ingredients, but we also play some lighter rock. Bands? Haha, it would be too many! Let's just say that Misiek and Lewy are fond of classic thrash, Beton and Lukass are mostly into death metal and I myself listen to everything that is heavy and not only - truth be told, it can be said of everyone of us.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
To experience this mixture of styles. We can hit really hard with some no-nonsense riffs, but we also have a melodic side to us. We aren't afraid of experiments and that is really our main strength. Best, you can listen to it and judge for yourselves: http://neuronia.bandcamp.com/album/insanity-relapse
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Two demos, two EPs and two full-lengths. We have received the warmest of reviews for our "Insanity Relapse" EP. This fact motivates us to work even harder on the new album. The former releases had mixed reviews, but most of them positive. The public gives us a warm welcome wherever we play, though we have to say that the farther to the eastern side of Poland, the better the reception!
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We're not counting exactly, but I guess that we have about 150 shows around Poland under our belt, including gigs with Sodom, Tankard, Paul Di' Anno, Torture Squad, U.D.O. and a few Polish cult bands like KAT, Quo Vadis and many more. We haven't really played that much in the last two years, as we have been concentrating on the new material. Once we release it, I think our concert activity will increase - that's the plan.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
We are not your regular metal band that sticks to one genre. As I said before, we like to experiment and enrich our sound. We love playing live, improvising and we can easily create a good moshpit! We are also a band that has something to say - I like to think that our lyrics convey important messages.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Record our third album and hit the road!
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to our last three releases and buy our stuff via BandCamp: http://neuronia.bandcamp.com (we have lately added a digipack re-release of "Insanity Relapse").
