Review:
Founded in 2013 Gravered reached their second EP with this Non, a 4 tracks (plus intro) work totaling almost 25 minutes of playing time. The Santiago based quartet seems to be playing what they were raised with (they all seem to be well passed their teen years), and that is old-school ugly, oppressive, demonic Death Metal, a combination between the Swedish and the South American schools of Death Metal with influences from the US too. Organic (South American-like) sound, upfront and loud bass lines, Stockholm-like guitar riffs, US-like guitar solos, a pretty good complex drumming, and a commanding, growling vocal, that's what we'll get from Non, a good new effort from the band, especially on fast paced passages. Unfortunately the slow to mid-paced parts of the EP are not as impressive, they actually kill the mood, and the intro/outro inserts are maybe a bit too long, so there's where the band needs to work some more, but for the rest I think they are pretty spot on, targeted on the old-school Death Metal fans only.
