Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Hails there! SEPTICOPYEMIA is one of the oldest grindcore bands on Russian scene, was formed in 1995. We are very active musicians and since those times we have strong position on the underground scene. Our musical history so big, from the demo tapes in the end of 90-s and tons of local gigs to professional studio albums with worldwide distribution and the biggest European grindcore festivals!

As for members, we are 5 sickos from 27 to 36 years old, who really love this music!

I’m Dmitry "Morbus”, guitarist and manager of the band, I’m working as sound engineer and I’m organizing brutal festivals in our city. It’s called "Bukkake fest”, and MOONFOG (Slovakia), JIG-AI (Czech), MUCOPUS (USA), CENOTAPH (Turkey), CARNIVORE DIPROSOPUS (Colombia), PULMONARY FIBROSIS and BAPTIZED IN VAGINAL LIQUID (France) blast here with support of strongest Russian and Ukrainian bands.

Bass guitarist "Carcassburner” is a major of fire-guardians, heh. And he is true grindcore fan!

Our vocalist Arthur "Dominator Doloris” has a medical education, so our lyrics about medical and porn accidents, ha-ha! Also he is a great painter, he draw sick artworks, logos and other design for Atavism, Lymphatic Phlegm, Cenotaph, Moonfog, Bowel Stew, Rotten Foetus rec., Grindfest prod., for Russian bands like Scrambled Defuncts, Aborted Fetus, Formalin and many more… Also he is drawing for the bands from Coyote rec. and Soul Flesh Collector rec.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?

The first years orienteer in music was old CARCASS, and later it was mix of aggressive Grindcore in the vein of Last Days of Humanity with groove of Cock and Ball Torture, with some Brutal Death touches. But the band has an own style and ideas, two free singers in the band, and their double vocal parts – fat pig/cut throat pig – add more sickness in the music!

It is hard for me to put any label on my music, but I think in whole words it is sick porn-oriented Death/Grind.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?

If you a true fan of good music, you must have an original cd in your collection! Every release has a multimedia part with rare videos, photos and other sweetie bonuses! Excusive artwork in the booklet, all the pages was designed by the band and deranged by drawing of sick vocalist!

Really sweet, aggressive sound! No fucking raw shit! We are working only in professional studios!

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?

We have 8 demos, half of them self-released, another were professionally released by UG-labels, 4 compilations, 3 splits, many video-compilations. The last professional works are debut full-length CD "Vomiting Swamp” and mini CD "Hungry Asses” have good sells and worldwide distribution. We have only good reaction on these releases! What can I say more? Check it!

And don’t forget, our music is used as soundtrack to porn movie!!!

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?

Yeah! SEPTICOPYEMIA is very active band for the live shows, we gives a lot concerts across Russia and Ukraine, takes part at Metal Heads Mission open air fest#7 (Evpatoria, Crimea, Ukraine), Petrogrind fest#3, #6 (St.Petersburg), Coyote Brutal fest #1,#2,#3, Coyote Open Air(Moscow), Murder Art fest#3(Moscow Death Fest) (Moscow), Zverovision 2008 (Kiev, Ukraine), Tattoo Metal fest #5,#6(St.Petersburg), and a lot of gigs as headliners!

We are presents Russian Federation at Obscene Extreme 2009 (Czech Republic) being only one Grindcore collective from this country!

What sould labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?

First of all check our great music, ha-ha!

We are very active in self-promotion! All the things we have now were made by the band only!

Anyway, we always glad to new friends and any help from people, who would love to do it and support us! We are open for new contacts, and looking promoters in Europe! We would like make change with gigs!

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?

After Obscene Extreme fest we have the new drummer, because the old one doesn’t want to progress with the band! We started to compose and rehearsal new songs for new album.

In 2010 we will celebrate 15-years jubilee on grindcore scene, and already we have booked few shows. So, future plans are new great shows, new merch, new album. I hope we will book some tours in Europe!
