Review:
Here's a come-back after 15 years (even though 11 of them saw the band on a serious break): Portland based Gore Death Metallers Lord Gore are back with their third full-length album, but this time, after working with Razorback and HPGD in the States, they've chosen Italian Everlasting Spew to... well, spew their latest vomits on mankind. Lord Gore are basically the same as you know them (if you do), but they have upped their game on what matters the most: composition, production and vocals. The compositions are basically a meeting point between Old-school Death Metal, Death Grind and Goregrind with ass-kicking, memorable, tremendously oppressive riffing as well as some other riffs that sound recycled and may only appeal to the nostalgics; the rhythms range from slow, horror-filled to ultra-fast bonanza. The production is their absolute best to date, no doubt, really in your face, crystal-clear, meaty and attentive to details, one of the highlights of the new Lord Gore. Gurge's vocals are very versatile here, with more emphasis on the Death Metal growling rather the Goregrind gurglings, but with plenty of variations and extremely expressive, a delight for fans of above-mentioned genes, I'm sure. Not sure if you'll agree with me, but I feel this is Lord Gore's best work to date and of course I recommend giving it a spin as soon as you can.
