Review:
Not sure if this is a full line-up band as we traditionally know bands, or a studio project, but I'd bet on the later. Founded in 2017 Mazikeen has only released singles since then and this 4 tracks EP only a few months after its inception, EP that later turned into a 7 tracks album (?) and released by IBDC on CD format. We're treated with Symphonic Black Death Metal, quite synthetic I'd say but not annoyingly synthetic to be fair. It's curious how they chose to feature different vocals on the featured track yet after all the material sounds curdled and one can only notice the swap if he knew of it beforehand. Mid tempo to fast paced Black Metal with a strong Symphonic keyboards background, a dark and menacing atmosphere and quite expressive taken as a whole, but unfortunately nothing mind-blowing or original. Some guitar riffs remind me of the Swedish Black Metal scene from the turning of the millennium, so it's clear they've had some serious fun coming up with this, trying to emulate their fave music, but all in all it doesn't convince it can be more than a studio project, or at least that's my impression.
