Review:
Debut EP from this one-man-band from Norway, a 5 tracks material clocking around 25 minutes of playing time, recorded between 2007 - 2019, so clearly this is not the most productive project out there. The music on it ranges from straight-forward, fast paced second-wave of Norwegian Black Metal to slow-paced Burzum-like Black Metal complete with atmospheric keyboard touches that sound really good from my point of view, they give the whole a bit of color because after a first track that is kinda dull you start to loose interest, but then on the second track a bit of atmospheric keys turn it into something more and the third track, Svart Hav, is the culmination and probably Ajera's best track. The whole recording is quite raw but not bad sounding at all so don't worry, this type of recording suits the compositions quite well. What I don't like is the drum-machine that sounds mediocre at the border with annoying here and there... All in all an interesting debut recommended to fans of earlier Burzum.
