Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Oberion formed in 2010 by the brothers Patric Kreutzberg and Johan Burman when both finally moved to the same area and could start writing music together on a daily basis. The work started straight away and a few years in the band took real form and we released two demos before the debut-album called "Return" which was released in 2014.
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Our genre would be described as Metal/Black Metal. It's neither traditional Metal nor traditional Black Metal but more a combination of those two as well as being influenced by other genres. The most essential part to us is to write music that we can both stand for and enjoy listening to.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
The music-world lack the pure and honest music today, no one seems to stand behind the music they create. They simply does not have any deeper intention with their music than just having a "good time". What we do is something that we stand for 100 percent, we are not just another Black Metal band.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
We've recently released our first album called "Return", which we are very proud of. It's a journey that reflects our hearts, souls and spirits and the pursuit of everything we want to achieve.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
We have a few festival gigs coming up this fall. In September 26th we're gonna play at a Black Metal festival in Sweden called "Mörkaste Småland". With acts like "Aura Noir, Naglfar, Necrophobic and Triptykon", it's gonna be a blast.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
As we mentioned before, we are a band that do what we do from heart, without compromising. We're always eager to play live and have always been very serious about what we do.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Our plan for the future is to play as much as possible to promote our new album and hopefully pull of a tour in the near future.
Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to our music for free on our sites: Facebook, Spotify, Bandcamp and YouTube. All merch can be purchased from the Bandcamp-site and also our album "Return" will be available for purchase as soon as the physical version of the CD arrives.
