Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Bleak Flesh is a chilean band formed in 2009 after the break of a previous project.
Two years later after many line-up changes and gigs including a support act for Cradle of Filth, the band began to take a new musical direction adding progressive and technical elements to their style.
In 2013 Bleak Flesh releases their debut EP called "THE GATEWAY" presenting four tracks with an interesting mix between metal genres like melodic death, technical death with progressive touches.
In 2014 the band started the recordings of their LP called "TRANSCENDENCE". The album was released on 7/19/2014, twelve tracks for fans of technical, progressive and melodic death metal. "TRANSCENDENCE" is available on Bandcamp, if you wanna get a limited CD copy of our album go to: https://bleakflesh.bandcamp.com/album/transcendence
We're a 5 piece band that uses recorded samples (mainly electronic sounds, symphonic elements and synths) to play live and a click track to make it.
Paulo Cárcamo (Vocals)
Matías Quiroz (7 Strings Guitars) Nicolás Martínez (8 strings Guitars) Sebastián Vidal (Drums) Enrique Carvajal (Bass Guitar)
How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
We're a technical, progressive and melodic Death Metal band with a lot of different influences that came from any music style, if it sounds great and interesting to us its all right. We can listen from symphonic music to bands like Obscura, Andromeda, Symphony X, movie soundtracks, videogames, etc.
Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
If you guys wanna hear something different, original non compromised music, if you don't care about styles or labels… you should listening to us.
What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
In 2013 our debut Ep called The Gateway and in 2014 an Lp called Transcendence. The most amazing thing of all its the fact that we're received an excellent response from the media and the public all over the world, great reviews and support from countries like indonesia, Greece, Finland, Mexico, Canada, USA, etc.
Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?
Actually we recently started to play live the entire Transcendence album and we're looking for venues to play and promote the band on our country.
What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Bleak Flesh is a fully functioning entity that delivers its music in the better way possible, we love what we do and we always try to improve ourselves no matter what.
What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Our main goal as a band is to take Bleak Flesh to the next level, the international scene. We're working hard to make it.
